Not much else to say about this one beyond what's said on the podcast. It was an eye-opening bit of research to say the least.

I do find it funny that soccer is always thought of as the next big thing in the U.S. only to find that it still has a long way to go before it's as ubiquitous as the already established big sports.

The World Cup seems more like a wonderful celebration of America's melting pot populace than of the sport itself. It happens, it's a big deal, then it's over.

Soccer is a lot like hockey in that everyone knows it's there and probably knows a fan or two who go absolutely crazy for it. The majority just choose not to for whatever reason.

Maybe that'll change one day. I've gotten more into soccer myself thanks to those Saturday morning Premier League games on NBCSN, but I'm still in the curiosity stage. Whereas I can watch hockey from any era all day and never get tired of it. I'm weird that way.
